SPICES IN CHICKEN DRUMSTICK CURRY

  1. Coriander seeds
  2. Red Chilies
  3. Turmeric
  4. Cumin
  5. Salt & Black Pepper
  6. Fenugreek Leaves
  7. Mustard
  8. Dried Ginger
  9. Cassia
  10. Cardamom Amomum
  11. Cloves
  12. Nutmeg

My recipe here is made with pre-packaged Chicken Masala powder that you see below. I highly recommending having this on hand for convenience sake. Otherwise you can just add the spices in individually if you desire.

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN DRUMSTICK CURRY

  • Start with gathering your ingredients, that being chicken 6 drumsticks, plain yogurt, fresh ginger and garlic, onions and your pre-packaged curry mix.
  • Heat 5 tbsp butter/ghee in a large pan & fry the chicken drumsticks till golden brown.
  • Remove them and set aside once they are near cooked.
  • Then add the chopped onions into the oil and fry till golden brown
  • Add 3 chopped roma tomatoes & all the spices and stir well, stir fry for 5 minutes then place the onion, tomato spice mixture in a blender and blend till smooth.
  • Add back in the Chicken Drumsticks along with the yogurt, 1/2 cup of water & mix well.
  • Reduce the heat to low heat, cover & simmer for 30 min.
  • Be sure to stir often to prevent sticking to the pan.
  • Prevent it from sticking at bottom.
  • Top with fenugreek leaves
  • Serve alongside basmati rice or quinoa.

HOW LONG TO COOK CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS IN CURRY

  • As long as you are frying prior in butter/ghee and cooking well
  • You can simmer them for under 30 minutes on low heat covered to cook

Is an inexpensive meal that can serve many people with the addition of some white rice or quinoa on the side. The more people you want to serve, just simply double to recipe up.

CAN YOU FREEZE CHICKEN DRUMSTICK CURRY

Defiantly! As long as the chicken was fresh to begin with it can freeze well for up to 3 months.
