This is the Best Indian Curry Recipe because it combines the flavors of two very popular Lamb and Chickpea curries all into one. 

Now don’t get me wrong I love a good Lamb curry on its own, and even Chickpea curry. However, merging the two together is a match made in curry heaven and can really feed a larger group of people also for less. 

And who does not like to save money these days on there meals? And trust me you will love this recipe so much that you may call it the Best Indian Curry Recipe you have ever tried. I am that confident! 

WHICH LAMB CURRY IS BEST

In my opinion Rogan Gosh and this recipe is very similar just with the added chickpeas.

DOES LAMB CURRY HAVE DAIRY

Not all of them do, some have just stock and onions and or tomatoes and spices. And some do, this one does. You can omit it or even try coconut milk instead. All varies work well!

BEST INDIAN CURRY RECIPE

  • Start by cooking your lamb
  • In a large skillet add 5 tbsp ghee or butter and sauté the lamb till slightly browned.
  • Meanwhile, in a small blender add in 2 medium tomatoes, 1 onion, 1 tbsp fresh garlic and 1 tbsp fresh ginger and blend till smooth.
  • Then in a medium pot add 3 tbsp of cooking oil along with all the spices and sauté over medium heat till fragrant.
  • Add in the contents from the blender next and sauté stirring often so the tomatoes do not burn on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Add in 1 cup of stock of your choosing and the sautéed lamb.
  • Add in the canned of strained chickpeas and another 1 tbsp of butter simmer covered all together over medium heat for 45 minutes till tender.
  • Serve with naan bread or basmati rice

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of lamb meat cubed
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 6 tbsp of butter or ghee
  • 3 tbsp of cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cup of beef, chicken or vegetable stock
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp garlic
  • 2 tbsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp of meat masala seasoning mix
  • 2 tbsp chana masala seasoning mix
